On Sunday the great thinker Lindsay Lohan said in her MySpace blog that she really cannot bite her tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.  She said quote “I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.”  http://www.showbizspy.com/showbiz/09142008/Lindsay-Lohan-Lashes-Out-at-Sarah-Palin 

Oh REALLY Lindsay?  That is one big BUT you got there!

I’m pretty sure you COULD be more supportive a woman running for office not just any office, the Vice-President of the United States.  That would be a historical event Lindsay and certainly worthy of anyone calling themselves a feminist.  If her gender was not an issue in your mind, why even bring it up?  This is not rocket science.

Lohan rambles on about gay rights, religious insensitivity and birth control then incredibly offers this advice to Sarah Palin “… Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity, you’re running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!” Come on now, Lindsay Lohan telling someone to NOT pose for tabloids is like Michael Moore telling people to not get fat.

But in the end Lindsay Lohan’s attacks are a symptom not the disease itself. This whole idea of women’s equality being only permissible for Liberal women is being pushed on society by the N.O.W. (National Organization for Woman) crowd and it is really pervasive. 

Three of the main issues that the N.O.W. crowd says they are for are “Ending Sex Discrimination”, “Promoting Diversity” and “Economic Justice” BUT, when a woman tries to break into the presidential boys club N.O.W.’s PAC Chair Kim Gandy dismissed it as “a cynical effort to appeal to disappointed Hillary voters.”

As Lindsay Lohan would say “let’s face it” in the name of fair advertising they really should change the name to National Organization for Liberal Women’s Values since they will only support you if you are for abortion and Gay (Lesbian) rights.  It does not matter to them whether you are a female or not as long as you push their leftist agenda.  I’m not kidding; they justified their support of Barack Obama and Joe Biden over Sarah Palin just that way.

Vistas means “views” in Spanish.  I live in Arizona, was born and raised in Arizona which as a Hispanic Conservative makes me a minority three times over.

In this column I will share my views from out here in the Valley of the Sun.

I think Arizonans are like those in most western states in that we are dealing with the influx of outsiders (from California, the mid-west and yes Mexico) who come here and affect our economy, society, culture and yes politics. The affect is at times positive and at times negative and sometimes both at the same time.

In my travels across the US I have seen firsthand that in the population dense areas of America the people tend to be Liberal minded and as the population density drops so too does the proclivity towards the Left. I have lived in LA, San Francisco, Portland and Phoenix three different states yet all examples of the above. Phoenix is the most balanced cross section of Liberals and Conservatives I have encountered so far as such it provides for a very good viewpoint to observe the significant differences between Left and Right.

If you live in the west I hope you can relate to these observations and if not, I hope that you will come to understand those of us living in the great American Southwest.
